The machine uses a pair of non-driving meshing gear as extrusion parts. Its working principle is positive displacement continuous extrusion. There are corresponding cylindrical through-holes in dedendum. The core of gear is hollow. Cylindrical through-holes directly connect with hollow part of the core from the dedendum. With the synchronous counter-rotating revolution, materials between two gears are uniformly filled in the tooth space while addendum of a gear forces materials inside the tooth space to the apertures at the dedendum, and extrudes the materials from inner wall of the core of the hollow gear. There is a slicer in the inner wall to cut strips of the materials, thus obtaining cylindrical particles with uniform length.
The machine is widely applied to granulation of more materials with high strength of particles and uniform length. The particles are cylindrical, and diameter of the particles ranges between 2.0 to 8.0 mm, with granulation rate of higher than or equal to 95%.

As the machine is rolled by gear, and materials are extruded through positive displacement compression. Therefore, the machine is widely applied to granulation of more materials, and granulation of thixotropic materials in particular.
Built-in scraper contributes to particles with uniform length.
Compared with screw extruder, the machine features lower water content in the materials required for the granulation, and higher strength of particles.
The shortcoming of the machine is relatively low productivity of single machine.
